Chocolate Caramel Oat Squares |
It's Cookie Friday!!! My friend brought these to a
get together many years ago. They have
been a favorite ever since, but be forewarned, you can’t stop at one of
these. These are SINFULLY good!
1 ½ cup flour
1 ½ cup old-fashioned oats
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ cup brown sugar
1 1/8 cup softened butter
14 ounce bag caramels, unwrapped
½ cup whipping cream
2 cups milk chocolate chips
In electric mixer stir together flour, oats, salt,
baking soda, brown sugar until combined.
Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
Sprinkle half of the mix in the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 pan and
press into a crust. Bake at 350 degrees
for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven.
Over low heat, melt caramels with the cream and mix until smooth.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust and top with melted caramel
mixture. Sprinkle remaining dry mix over
caramel and bake again for 12-15 minutes.
Be careful not to over bake. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
I love these cookies. You made them for me before and then I've made them several times. Our family can gobble these up quick- so yummy! Thanks for sharing.
